Introduction
Awarded the Latin Grammy Award in 2023, Carmen Linares is celebrated as one of the most iconic flamenco artists of all time.
In this unique musical encounter, the living legend of flamenco reflects on her remarkable artistic journey through an interview and open discussion. She shares insights into her most influential albums, the pivotal figures in her career, and her unforgettable experiences performing on stages around the world. The event concludes with a short recital, where she is accompanied by her son and longtime guitarist, Eduardo Espín.
“I have given my life to flamenco, but flamenco has returned it to me abundantly. I feel very fortunate as an artist in these 40 years as a solo cantaora.”
The event is part of the Helsinki Flamenco Biennial.
