Introduction

On September 19, 2024, Moving North – dance film event brings dance to the silver screen with the power of two screenings and thus gives a good view of the diverse world of dance films. The event will show a total of 12 short dance films, a total of about two hours of film.

In addition to film screenings, a networking event for professionals and professional students will be organised at Tanssi talo at 2 pm to 4:30 pm. The guests of the event are Helena Jónsdóttir, a pioneer of dance film and director of the Physical Cinema festival in Reykjavik, and Rannvá Kárádóttir, choreographer of the RAMMATIK group. We talk with Helena and Rannvá about dance filmmaking, festival work and curation, the fusion of AV art and dance, and finally Helena and Rannvá talks about their own projects.
