Introduction

Dance leaps onto the big screen with two dance film series.

The first part features a collection of stunning Finnish dance films curated by dance filmmaker and pioneer Kati Kallio. The second series includes high-quality short dance films by members of the Nordic Moving North artist network, showcasing works from the Faroe Islands, Iceland, and Denmark.

Dance film is a rich and diverse art form, a natural fusion of two powerful artistic disciplines: film and dance. Internationally beloved, captivating, and constantly evolving, dance film transcends genre boundaries and language barriers.

5:30 PM Moving

The screening highlights the flourishing and international success of Finnish dance film. Six dance films take the audience to various worlds through movement, emotions, and visuality. One circus film is also included.

7:30 PM North

The screening features works by Nordic artists, including Helena Jonsdóttir (IS), Maia Elisabeth Sørenssen (DK), and the RAMMATIK group, consisting of Marianna Mørkøre and Rannvá Káradóttir (FO). The artists have met through Nordic collaboration, and the screening will showcase how their works resonate with each other.
