Introduction

The stage of Renaissance is a flowing spring; a place for rebirth and new forms of imagination. The performance beckons the audience to a realm of wonder, pleasure, and oddity.

Renaissance summons forth mythical bodies that turn fantasies into flesh. Its stage aspires to make space for the normative corporeality that is permeated by power to renew and transform itself. The performance looks for ways to become re-enchanted in a world where we have lost touch with our imagination. Renaissance reaches out towards new kinds of disorders, connections, pleasures, and perversions.

WAUHAUS is a Helsinki-based multidisciplinary arts collective that was founded in 2016. Their works are situated between different genres of art and have taken place at various venues, such as gallery spaces, small black box venues, urban sites, large stadiums, and the main stages of established theatre houses. WAUHAUS is known for their comprehensive audiovisual stage aesthetics and methods of shared authorship. The collective collaborates with artists and institutions both in Finland and abroad.
