In the workshop you will explore practices that focus on mental and physical consciousness and examine our thought processes on movement development and analysis. Practices of consciousness use repetition as a way to encounter transformation – in the workshop one will ask, can you guide the transformation by playing with the roles of doer and the practice.
The workshop is based on Säfsten’s piece Matsalen – that is performed at Annantalo during the week. Matsalen is a participatory dance performance where the audience and the dancers together create new rules concerning social eating. Everyday actions, such as moving a salt shaker, a plate or, perhaps, a chair, are explored with the help of one’s own body and video projections.
The workshop is free of charge, and can take 8 professionals in the registration order (maximum 2 from the same theatre/company/working group). The language in the workshop is English.
Workshop participants are warmly welcome, and it’s recommended, to come and experience the piece Matsalen before the workshop. Find the performance dates below and register for the performance of your choice at the same time you register to the workshop. The participation of the performance is for free.
Registrations by e-mail before October 11, 2019 to Pirjetta Mulari, firstname.lastname@example.org.
